CHANGE:
Change is inevitable.
Every individual must deal with change in some way.
For young people, change may be difficult, life-altering, and leave their world turned upside down.
In this Unit of Study, we ask the questions:
How do individuals adapt or react to change?
How can learning about how others deal with change, help YOU deal with change in your own life?
Some of our Big Ideas include dealing with changes associated with:
-Cultural Changes
-Change due to political upheaval
-Change due to gender roles
-Change due to inclement weather
-Change due to personal tragedy
-Change due to personal choices
-Change due to family struggles
Our Goal for this Unit is to:
Help young people identify with literary characters and the characters' situations, in order to make connections that may help them deal with changes in their own lives.
